Northbound Enterprises leadership in conversation with the team at the Chesapeake office

About us

Direction Over Speed

Northbound Enterprises Inc is a third-party marketing firm in Chesapeake, Virginia — built on the belief that people are capable of becoming more than they currently see in themselves.

Who we are

More Than a Sales Company

We are not simply focused on sales. We are focused on developing people, building leaders and creating a culture where individuals grow through real-world experience, mentorship and accountability.

Northbound represents national brands directly to consumers. Our team handles the customer conversation from first hello to signed agreement, and we treat every one of those conversations as a reflection of the brand we represent.

Because our people are an extension of those brands, we invest heavily in training and development — making sure our team members understand not only what they are selling, but how to communicate effectively, build trust and represent our clients with integrity.

The Northbound story

Built From the Ground Up

Northbound was built by someone who started exactly where many of our team members start: in the field, learning the business one conversation at a time.

Born in Northern Virginia and raised in Ethiopia, our founder grew up seeing what happens when people are denied access to the resources others take for granted — particularly quality healthcare. That shaped an early conviction: whether the impact was large or small, he wanted to leave the world better than he found it.

For years he believed medicine was the way to do that. In his late teens, a deepening interest in independent thinking and personal development took him in a different direction, and he wrote and published two self-help books — Nobody Knows and Nobody Knows Pt. 2 — on self-awareness, discipline and the journeys people take.

Publishing those books taught him something he had never mastered: no matter what you build — a book, a business, an idea or a mission — you have to know how to communicate its value and put it in the hands of the people who need it. So he set out to learn sales.

In 2025 he entered the direct sales industry and learned the business from the ground up: knocking on the doors, having the conversations, taking the coaching. Sales taught him how to communicate. Leadership taught him how to develop people. Completing the Management in Training process taught him how to take responsibility for something bigger than himself. Northbound Enterprises is where all three come together.

The long-term vision reaches further than this company: to build nonprofit, around-the-clock hospitals in underserved parts of Africa and beyond. Northbound is the next chapter of that journey, not the end of it.

Why the name — the compass

Northbound Represents Direction

The name is rooted in a simple idea: direction is more important than speed. Everyone’s journey begins from a different place, but what matters is knowing where you are going and continuing to move toward it.

The compass in our mark stands for direction and purpose. Before speed, before targets, before titles — know which way you are heading and why it matters to you. That is the first question we ask anyone who joins us, and it is the one we keep coming back to.

Why the name — the mountain

Embrace the Climb

The mountain represents the climb: the growth, the discipline and the challenges that come with reaching a summit. The difficulty is not a detour from the work — it is the work. Anyone who has built something worth having already knows this.

Together, the compass and the mountain describe how we operate: know your direction, embrace the climb and keep moving forward.

Northbound is not about where you are today. It is about where you are going.

Core values

Seven Standards, No Exceptions

Our values are not wall art. They are the criteria we coach against, promote against and hold each other to every single day.

01

Direction

Know where you are going and why. Everyone starts from a different place; what matters is the direction you choose and your willingness to keep moving toward it.

02

Discipline

Do what needs to be done, especially when no one is watching. Consistency is what separates intention from results.

03

Growth

Never stop learning, improving and developing. Every day in the field is a chance to get measurably better.

04

Leadership

Lead by example and create leaders around you. The strongest measure of a leader is the people they develop.

05

Integrity

Do the right thing and represent yourself, your team and our clients with professionalism — in every conversation.

06

Resilience

Learn from setbacks and continue moving forward. The climb is part of the process, not a sign to stop.

07

Teamwork

Individual success means more when it contributes to collective success. We win as an organization.

Our culture

Driven, Disciplined and Genuinely Supportive

Northbound is competitive — we keep score, we celebrate wins and we set the standard high. It is also one of the most supportive rooms you will work in, because nobody here grows alone.

New team members are coached one-to-one from day one. Leaders still do the work themselves. Feedback is direct, specific and given because we expect you to be capable of more.
